Ghana + NHL = ??

Today I finally checked out the schedule for the Leafs. I hadn’t looked it up yet because I knew that I will be missing about half of the games since I’ll be gone from October to December. While sad, this isn’t a huge issue for the following reasons:

1. I really really want to go to Ghana.

2. Jord and I don’t have cable so I usually miss a lot of the games anyway, and our static on CBC is so bad that you usually can’t see the puck.

3. The Leafs tend to do horribly at the beginning of the season so I will be back just in time to see them make an incredible run at the end of the season and narrowly miss the playoffs.

It’s also important to note that the Leafs play the Capitals on my birthday (November 3). So think of me and cheer on the Leafs on that day. Seeing as you would have probably bought me a beverage or two for my birthday, why not donate that $10 ($20?) to my Ghana fund instead?!?! You can find my fundraising page HERE. But if you were thinking of getting me tickets to my birthday game and roadtripping with me to Washington (yeah right), you can rest assured that I will be back for the second half of the season, so feel free to purchase tickets from mid-December onwards.

Go Leafs Go!

  1. […] I thought it might be interesting for those of you who read my Ghana + NHL post to know that someone took my plea seriously and bought me Leafs tickets. March 14 vs. the Lightning, […]

  2. I’m not sure if this is good news or bad news, but as a fellow leafs fan, I thought you should know that the leafs just won against the Penguins.

That’s three wins in a row to start off the season. Hopefully they’ll keep this pace up so you can see some wins when you return!

Glad to hear that all is going well. Keep up the great job and thanks for the blogging! Go leafs go 🙂

    • I am hearing some great things about the Leafs and am thinking that maybe I should consider another trip out of the country during the playoffs? go leafs go!!!
